Based on the famous tale of "the Conte de Monte Cristo" for "Alexander Dumas", the hero is unfairly thrown in jail, but manages to escape and seeks revenge from those who threw him in jail and over ruled the country.

ومما يذكر أنه قد سبق إنتاج نفس الفيلم بعنوان أمير الانتقام عام 1950 بنفس القصة والسيناريو والحوار ولنفس المخرج هنري بركات، وكان من بطولة أنور وجدي.
